Did the ALP's odds SHORTEN yesterday?

Yesterday the Daily Terrorist Telegraph attempted a hatchet job on Bill Shorten. See Steve from Brisbane for all the details and links.

Let me make a few points:

  1. Shorten's point on Q&A was that his mother had wanted to be a barrister but her family could afford to send her to University so she studied to be a teacher on a SCHOLARSHIP. Anything she does after this is irrelevant.
  2. The 'journalist' claimed Shorten's mother had an illustrious career. An illustrious career does not end in tears nor does it last 5 years nor does it mean few briefs or even a struggle to do her articles despite a brilliant student record.
  3. She had to enter academia. She gained herself a PhD and had a disguised academic career.
The most ironic thing here is the 'journalist' left out very important parts of Shorten's mother life. She did this because she was lazy.

But in an ironies of all ironies the Terror has made Shorten look human and authentic.

I suspect, lie a lot of people, this will translate into 'better' ratings for Shorten and perhaps a slight improvement for the ALP in polls.
