All the talk in the press is about the divisions in the government parties about same sex marriage.BUT what about the ALP? I can remember when the social conservatives dominated the ALP. Right wing Catholics do not understand any biblical context but their heart is usually in the right place. Where are they now? ( It is ironic that protestants joined Catholics in starting the ALP just like what occurred in the UK with the Labour party although Wesleyian Methodism was dominant there )
I have not heard anyone from the ALP come out ( pun intended) and state they object to same sex marriage.
Are they frightened politically now? Do they think it is bad for their political future? Or was their Catholic understanding as poor as Tony Burke?
I for one would like to know.
