Songs that are better live than in the studio

Okay we have seen quite a few songs that really cannot be done live.

However what about the opposite.
Being live means have a good tight band. It means you cannot rely on production techniques to ensure the song is okay. In a lot of cases the live song is very different.
The first example is Lou Reed. Rock and Roll done with Velvet Underground is pretty boring.

Now give Lou Reed a fantastic backing backing band  ( special mention to Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner on guitar) and the song is transformed. The guitar licks are fantastic.

From RocknRoll Animal, the best live album of all time we have the live version.

amazing

I saw Reed and this band perform at the old Hordern Pavilion in 1975 and it is still the best live show I ever saw.

  2. In a previous article I covered the pre-reading activities and skills needed as a first step in teaching a child to read. The second step in the reading process is teaching the letter sounds to your child. There is an easy and straightforward way to do this that has been very successfully used in teaching a child to read. sounds equalizer
