The Ashes A Review

I do not want this Ashes to end. It has been thrilling from start to end.

Let us go through the basics.

  • The Crowds have been fantastic. The poms dress up in crazy costumes and create a wonderful atmosphere.
  • The pitches except of Headingley have been too flat and favouring the batsmen. Without 'bazball' we would have had three maybe four easy pommy wins given they batted first. Bazball created risk and wickets for our bowlers.
  • The poms were the best team. They lost the first two tests , we di not win them.
  • Four of the test were very close. The ebbs and flows in those four tests simply took your breath away. England did monster us in Manchester.
  • Stokes is right up there with Mark Taylor and Ian Chappell as one of the best captains i have ever seen. given his limited bowling resources he is perhaps the best.
  • Has Anderson lost his outswinger. Yes he had little luck but that magnificent outswinger seemed to be lost and if he does not find it he will not play test cricket again.
  • The umpires were poor. Robinson should have been reported in the first test  for swearing at Kawaja of all people and they should have inquired about all the circumstances in the Bairstow stumping.
  • Can they get the dukes ball back to swinging at the start please
Both teams are aging. England will not have any of their bowlers in Australia and our side will be missing a number of batsmen and bowlers as well  in the next Ashes.
