Gladys had to go

ICAC eventually released its report on gladys and her lover. although she was guilty of corrupt conduct they did not recommend she be prosecuted. One of the reasons missed by most was UNLESS she was on the stand ( and she would never be) it was very unlikely she would ever be found guilty.

She had to go for two reasons.

  1. She absurdly did not believe the ministerial coode of conduct applied to her as she was Premier not a minister.
  2. She named some nieces as a possible conflict of interest in any cabinet decisions but not her lover. She continued to again absurdly argue this was not a conflict of intertest. Her cabinet colleagues may have come to different decisions if they had known. She NEVER recused herself.
In the end there is nothing worse than a 'nice' person who breaks the rules and cannot even acknowledge they have.
