I have given you some great articles to read over the last few days so it is time to vent my feelings.
It appears Trump wil lbe indicted again only this time on crimes due to the Jan 6 insurrection. It is important to note he could not be indicted if a grand jury did not agree.
It is important to not if the DOJ was being weaponised as alleged then the charges would be thrown out or he would be found innocent as occurred not once but twice under Trump. Trump has lost a number of cases in trying to stop any of these cases. trump has never explained how a weaponised DOJ were able to convince a number of grand juries!
If any of these cases were bullshit as alleged by Trump he would want a very speedy trial to show how poor these cases are. In fact he is doing all he can to ensure thy are as long as possible and start , if they do, after the nest election.
If he is the Republican candidate and wins then my guess is the Supreme court will allow him to pardon himself. However it is important to note If the cases against go ahead and he loses he cannot do this. Then we have the weird thing of a President ruling from gaol!
I have no doubt Trump would bring an authoritarian bent to another Presidency but I do not think the institutions are so far gone as to allow this.
