Clearly something has to be done about the criminal behaviour of the union.
Deregistration of the union would penalise union members and the members conditions would be totally changed with negotiated EBAs and awards no longer applying.
We can also observe the deregistration of the BLF by Hawke was not that unsuccessful.
On the other hand placing the union in an administrator's hands has benefits. It was entirely successful in the HSU case.
It would also means member's conditions would not be affected.
