Sofronoff got very close to a culture war warrior called Janet Albrectson. This utterly destroyed his independence. He actually gave her a copy of his report BEFORE the ACT government who were paying him.
This was a disgrace. How could the man be so stupid as not to see this as compromising his report? The ACt government has spent a lot of money on essentially nothing.
