I don't know what else to say about the National's madness. They wanted a divorce and then they did not?
I can't help but think Littleproud got rattled by the leadership vote the Nationals always have after an election. Perhaps he thought some of this madness might appeal to those who voted for Canavan. We never get to know the votes but I think we can assume it was a lot closer than most thought.
This is alarming. Canavan as leader would make the coalition unelectable. Only the base of the Nationals (and Liberals) do not believe in climate change. The Liberals cannot win suburban seats without respecting climate change and adopting policies to counter it. Just remember the teals won very safe Liberal seats primarily but not only on combatting climate change.
Until the Nationals realise this the coalition will not win an election and this is very bad for Australian democracy!
