The Greens

 Let us examine the Greens for a minute.

They went backwards in the HoR but gained strength in the Senate. To some extent this is not surprising. The greens will only win seats in the HoR when they run second to the liberals in primaries and then win on ALP preferences. If they finish second to the ALP then the Liberals will enable the ALP to win it.

This should tell the Greens they will never be a major party. They should not repeat the hubris and thus decline of the australian democrats.

Indeed they might just try a variation of what made the australian democrats so successful. To keep the bastards honest. This is particularly so regarding climate change and the environment.

If they did this people like me might ignore their rantings on other subjects knowing important policies will not be opposed.

I think their leadership vote is as bad as the Liberals. It is ironic the only people in the greens who show any leadership qualities are males!

we shall see if the greens decline like the ADs or maintain their status as a senate party of significance.
