Two things about Gimme Shelter.
I always thought the lyrics were different.
I was listening to BBC world service on radio national one night and they interviewed the lady who does the amazing lyrics on the song. They rang her up about 2-3 am to get her do the vocals. Her reputation was garnered by her experience in gospel music. In no live performance have I seen has any woman got near to her voice on this track.
No I do not believe the band di the music!
