I watched John Adams the mini-series last week and this with my family. It is dated ( (2008) but it is brilliant. The link gives a better summary than I could give.
The series is well written, well acted and a joy to watch. It is on Prime so it will cost you but it is worth it.
Highly recommended.
I should have mentioned his son became President as well but like his father was a one term president.
