Well Andrew Gelman has joined this chorus.
Read the whole thing but quite some time ago he utterly demolished Richard Tol on this subject. He is utterly bewildered to d find William Nordhaus using Tol's techniques in his well known paper.
This all raises important questions for global warming. Most importantly have we been underestimating the costs of gobal warming
