Let us forget about the roads to authoritarianism domestically. Vance in Europe told lies, easily checked, about european polity. He wanted to embrace both the neo-nazi AFD in Germany and an equally detestable roque in Rumania. Now we have the debacle with Zelensky. Just remember Vance voted against any aid to Ukraine!
This can only mean the USA no longer wants to embrace democracy and democratic ideals but wishes to be part of the 'strong men' network. It is no longer the leader of the Western world. how can it be when it does not support a rules based system in either securrity or trade.
The worst thing about it. republicans have completely and utterly forgotten what they used to stand for. Rubio should have resigned on the spot.
I should have added Rubio will get a lot of questions from Western diplomats and the five eyes will be wondering they can trust sharing information.
Clearly this was done to appeal to the ignorant MAGA types however anyone with half a brain could see what occurred which is why almost everyone overseas rallied around Zelensky. Another reason why the USA does not care about former allies.
